Hi there and welcome! Cupcakes and Mud Puddles is a blog that has evolved into my journey to embrace the "sweet" and "messy"moments in motherhood and how adoption has blessed my life in ways I never imagined possible. It's my journal of sorts...a place where I like to record special memories I am blessed to share with my family. It's also been a great way for me to keep in touch with each of my children's birthmothers and their extended biological families.
I'm an adoptive mama to three and a native Texan. I have a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and worked for many years in the field of education as a teacher, education consultant and school administrator. After adopting our son, Noah--I made the decision to stay home full time and focus on my family. And I am so thankful I did…
I am very grateful to my sweet hubby for working so hard to provide for our family so I can be at home full-time with our children in their younger years. What a blessing it is to spend my days with them--watching them learn and grow and helping them navigate their way through this uncertain world. I had always hoped and dreamed of being a mother someday and while the journey to get here wasn't as easy as I imagined it would be--I have seen the Lord's hand in mine and Jody's life as we've moved forward in faith. We faced great challenges and heartache with infertility and several failed adoptions over the years-- but as I sit here today, I can honestly say how thankful I am for the difficulties we faced to become parents. They made me stronger, they made our marriage stronger and more importantly--they increased my faith and understanding in Heavenly Father's plan for me as a wife and mother. I feel truly blessed to be sharing this earthly life with my dear husband and the special children He sent our way.
It's a dream come true.
