Lola's Baptism

Tuesday, December 6, 2016

"…. What a wonderful thing that is, to know that in similitude of the death and burial and resurrection of the Son of God we have gone down into the water and been immersed in the water and brought forth out of the water. Baptism is a great and sacred and marvelous ordinance that brings with it the remission of sins, but in a larger measure, it is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Divine Redeemer."
-Gordon B. Hinckley

Noah was so honored that Lola asked him to give the opening prayer...

My sweet mom sharing her message about baptism covenants and eternal families with Lola and the rest of the cousins...

Lola asked her Uncle Jody to conduct the baptism...

Sweet Otto...

Poppy taught us about the importance of the gift of the Holy Ghost and how it can bless and protect us if we heed it's promptings in our lives...we were so grateful that he felt well enough to be there and speak.

What a beautiful baptism...we were so happy that we could be there to help my niece, Lola, celebrate her special baptismal day.  We're so proud of the righteous choices she has made to get to this point in her life. Lola loves the Lord...and has a desire to know him better by going to church with her family each Sunday and honoring him in her daily choices.  It was so sweet--I could just sense by her countenance at the baptism and her little nervous smile --just how special this day meant to her.  She was beaming with pride.

She has such a sweet and tender heart and yet at the same time, is a fiercely strong and intelligent daughter of God who will no doubt go out and do great things in this world.  I hope she'll always remember and cherish this day--and never let the adversary or other people come between her and the Lord.  I look forward to seeing what she does with the all the amazing gifts and talents Heavenly Father has blessed her with. I'm so proud and honored to be her Aunt GiGi!!

xoxo...
