Pumpkin Patch fun

Every October, for the past 6 years, it's become a family tradition of ours to take Noah (and now Gavin and Taylor) to this little pumpkin patch in town to pick out pumpkins for Halloween.  It's across the street from Noah's school, so little man always keeps a watchful eye out for when they begin setting up all the pumpkins and scarecrows.  He loves Halloween…always has.

We decided to take the kids last week after we picked Noah up from school and boy-- they were all so excited.  Daddy left the office early and met us there so we could enjoy this time together picking out our pumpkins.  The kids were giggling and laughing as they walked around touching and examining all the pumpkins.  Noah grabbed a wagon as soon as we walked into the patch and began his search for the biggest pumpkin he could find.  Oy!! Of course we had to talk him down to a smaller one at the end when it came to pay because they were so stinkin' expensive. :-)

It was really hot while we were there (we never get much of a true fall here in the Rio Grande Valley --definitely not the pretty ones like we had in Virginia--it stays in the 80s and 90s down here until January…ugh!!), but thankfully there was a breeze the day we went, so that helped cool us off while we walked around.

We had a great time once again this year hanging out as a family at the pumpkin patch. Jody and I so enjoyed watching the kids run around together--laughing and giggling as brothers and sisters do while picking out their pumpkins. The kids are looking forward to carving them this week and getting the house all decorated for Halloween.   Good times…and blessed memories together.
