Taco Soup

My sister-in-law shared this recipe with me a few years ago and it's
a hit at our house.  I know there are a lot of taco soup recipes out there,
but this one is our favorite. My hubby thinks it has the texture more akin to what
we Southerners call "frito pie" than a soup. :-)

I especially like to make it on Sundays--
it's super easy to throw together in the crockpot before heading out to church
and when we return home, we have a yummy meal ready to eat.

Here's what you'll need:

1 lb. Hamburger Meat
1 pkg. Taco Seasoning
1 pkg. Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
1 can Rotel Tomatoes
1 can Stewed Tomatoes
1 can Tomato Sauce
2 cans Ranch Style Beans, drained
1 can Whole Kernel Corn, drained (we prefer Hominy instead)
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. dried chopped onions
2 tbsp. sour cream
1 can water
Shredded Cheese
Corn Chips

Brown your meat and drain

Pour tomato sauce and hominy (or corn) into crockpot

Add the beans

Add your stewed tomatoes and Rotel
Sprinkle (1) package of Buttermilk ranch dressing,
(1) package of Taco Seasoning, chili powder and dried onions over mixture

Stir in your browned meat

Add 1 cup of water and the sour cream-- stir well

Simmer on low-to-medium heat for approximately 3-4 hours

When ready to serve, layer your corn chips on the bottom of the bowl

Pour soup mixture over your chips--sprinkle with cheese...
...and voila!!...
a yummy meal the entire family will enjoy!
