Holiday celebration with family

We had a wonderful time spending the holidays with my husband's side of the family.
We always enjoy getting together with family at Jody's parent's home.
Their home is located on a beautiful, peaceful lake nestled in the
country just outside our hometown.

Noah and all of his cousins have so much fun helping Pop build
a bonfire, going fishing and tromping all over the land while there.

Here is a collection of our special photo memories we shared together
this year during our little holiday celebration...

I know we'll always cherish the memories we made with our family at this year's holiday get-together. Mine and Jody's hearts were so full --- it was really special to be able to celebrate the holidays this year as our family has grown.  Having baby boy and little Taylor there with us made it all the more special. Such a tremendous blessing to have these two precious babies in our lives now.  I'm grateful that we made it a priority this year to make time to spend with our extended family.  It isn't easy for us to travel so far to see's expensive and a lengthy trip---but so, so worth it.
We look forward to the next time all of our family can get together again and make more special memories together.

P.S....I'm reminded of this wonderful quote by Thomas S. Monson on how we
should strive to spend our time while here on this earth---
while we have our health and our loved ones around us....
it's easy to get bogged down and depressed by all life's commitments
and stressors we typically experience on a daily basis--
yes, it's all too easy sometimes to focus on all the not-so-pleasant things in our lives--
when instead, we need to make a concerted and day-by-day effort to focus our energies
on the spiritual things and people that matter most---
those that bring us the most joy and happiness in this life.

For as we all know----the special and memorable moments we enjoy
with our loved ones pass by all too quickly.

“Near the end of his life, one father looked back on how he had spent his time on earth.
An acclaimed, respected author of numerous scholarly works, he said,
‘I wish I had written one less book and taken my children fishing more often.’

“Time passes quickly. Many parents say that it seems like yesterday that their children were born.
Now those children are grown, perhaps with children of their own.
‘Where did the years go?’ they ask. We cannot call back time that is past, we cannot
stop time that now is, and we cannot experience the future in our present state.

Time is a gift, a treasure not to be put aside for the future but to be used wisely in the present.”
