....Our week in the Texas Hill Country.

We took a little family vacation recently to the Hill Country...our favorite place in the state of Texas.  Jody had to be in Austin for work, so we decided to add a few extra days to the visit and spend time together in the Austin and Wimberley area.  It was such a great trip.  We ate at one of our favorite restaurants....Threadgill's.  When Jody and I used to live in Austin, this was one of the restaurants that we frequented often...they have the best grits, cornbread and chicken fried steak.  It was dang good! ;-)

We stopped in and talked with a local builder that we are hoping to use to build our home on our land in Wimberley.  Above is one of the model homes that we fell in love with....we are fond of the farmhouse style and think something like this would look so pretty on our 5 acres.
While Jody was talking with the builder, Noah and I stayed outside and explored.  We found some pretty unusual looking critters....
Here are Noah and Jody as they walk around on our land....
This is the coolest B&B in Wimberley that you can rent...it's called the Big Chapel.  We've never stayed at this property, but have stayed at it's sister property, the Little Chapel.  We'd love to rent this one someday -- maybe when the entire Mask or Bishop family come to Wimberley and stay together.
When Pop and Janet came to visit, we took them down to the private river access which is just down the road from our property.  It is one of our favorite spots to hang out when we come in town.  Noah LOVES sitting in the river with his Daddy and searching for rocks to throw in.
We grilled out later that evening with Jody's parents.  We invited them to spend the night with us at the house we were renting for the week in Wimberley.  Jody grilled some fabulous steak for us for dinner.
This is the cute house we rented.  It's called the Texas Star....click here to see more pics of this peaceful getaway.
We stayed in our swimsuits quite a bit either hanging out at the river or in the hot tub at the house.
One of the many beautiful classic cars we saw around town....

All sorts of farm animals to photograph in the country....I fell in love with these cute donkeys.

More views of our land and the river...
We drove into Austin on Father's Day to visit Jody's sister, Amy, and her family....Noah always gets so excited to see his Austin cousins.
On the drive home, he fell asleep watching his movie in the car.  He was pooped out after playing with his cousins.

  1. What a beautiful piece of property! We were in Austin on Father's Day too. We had just flown in. Our youngest met her roommate for the first time and we then headed to Waco for orientation.
