A visit to Austin Children's Museum.

On one of our recent trips to Austin, we took little man to the Austin Children's Museum.  This was the first time we've visited the museum and let me just say,
we were super impressed with all the fun and innovative things to do.  It's jam packed with all sorts
of stimulating, kid-friendly interactive stations where the kids get a chance to explore and problem solve.

The day we were there, it was overflowing with families, so Noah had his choice of little peeps to play with.  And well, Mommy and Daddy had fun jumping in and playing around with all the cool stuff, too!

Here are a few of our fun pics from our time at the children's museum...

Without question, we had a great time at the children's museum. If you are visiting the
downtown Austin area, I highly recommend this place for the entire family.
Also, they have this really cool website that is a great resource for parents.  They share really cool science experients you can do with your kids at home.  Check it out here.

It was really touching for us to learn the museum is a big supporter of the local heart gallery .  If you're not familiar with a heart gallery, it's a traveling photographic exhibit created to help find forever families for children in foster care.  The Austin Children's Museum has beautiful, life-size photographs of
several children who are waiting to be adopted.  As you know, this is something that is near and dear to my heart as I am an adoptive mom myself.  While there, I had the opportunity to visit with two couples who are fostering sibling groups at this time and are hoping to adopt them.  It was so nice to visit with them and hear how they enjoy bringing their foster children to the museum and enjoy quality time together.

If  we lived in the Austin area, we would definitely invest in a family membership and
make this a regular activity.  It's a bummer we don't live closer so we
could go more often and enjoy this wonderful place.  :-(

All in all...a super fun place for children of all ages and yes, even for those of us
who are still big kids at heart!
