{Amateur} Pumpkin Carvers...

On Halloween Eve, we headed outside to the backyard and carved our special (rather large) pumpkin that Noah had picked out at the pumpkin patch. He was so excited that it was finally time to make his jack-o-lantern. Needless to say, we are definitely amateur pumpkin carvers around here. I forgot to pick up a pumpkin carving kit, much to the hubby's chagrin.  So we had to resort to carving it 'ole school...knives and the hubby's brute strength. ;-)

As you will see below, we had fun playing around with the camera while carving the pumpkin.  It was pretty funny now that I look back on these pics...especially when both of my boys refused to stick their hands in the pumpkin to clean the "guts" out--they made mama do it.  Let's just say I have serious texture issues like my son... as you will clearly see below.

Precious memories were made this year as we carved our first "official" pumpkin together as a family.

Note to self...for next year, the hubby made me promise that we won't forget to invest in a good pumpkin carving kit.
