Tast-ee burgers, kick'in threads and antiques galore.

When Jody and I were first married, we lived in Austin.  We loved our time living in the Hill Country {in fact, we regret ever leaving....but that's neither here or there} so it has been so nice spending this week hanging out in our favorite part of the state of Texas.

While we lived in Austin and about the same time I was in graduate school at Texas State University-San Marcos, we stumbled upon this great little burger joint.  We would often drive down to San Marcos on a Saturday and eat lunch at the Centerpoint Station.  It's located just across the highway from the Outlet stores, so as you can probably imagine, given its location, it's a happening place and always busy.

Not only do they have a great burger, but I especially love the ambiance of this burger joint.  You feel as if you are stepping back in time the minute you walk in the door...it has that "old-timey", general store feel to it.  Antique signs, pictures, newspapers and all sorts of vintage trinkets adorn the walls and ceilings everywhere you look.

Our first order of business when we walk in the door usually is to head straight over to the counter and order our bacon cheeseburgers with an order of fries and a juicy Dr. Pepper.  I know...no where close to being healthy or good for the waistline, but what can I say....we're on vacation so forget counting those calories, I say!! ;-)

My all-time favorite beverage...

A very relaxing and laid back dining experience...just how we like it.  You order at the counter, they give you a number and then you find a seat.  Along the way, you stop at the soda fountain machine where you get to fill up your cups with your soft drink of choice {Dr. Pepper of course}.  Even better, they have that great {Sonic-style} crushed ice for your beverages.  And added bonus, in my opinion!  After a few minutes, voila---they bring your burgers right to your table for you.

We opted for the onion ring-french fry combo basket to compliment our burgers.  Very tasty!

And then ladies...after your meal, you can move on to do some shopping...all under the same roof.  How convenient is that!!??  This is my favorite part, getting to browse through the store and look at all the eye-candy--and believe me...you are surrounded by it.  Lots of pretty things to choose from.

They have quite a selection of  Kelly Rae Roberts...

Clothes, purses and cowboy boots galore...

What seems like a never ending Vera Bradley section...

Wall art and other cute home decor...

Some bling-bling you would love (and a huge Brighton section)...

And then of course, their antiques are absolutely beautiful (unfortunately though-- quite pricey--argh!!!)....

I typically spend most of my time looking at all the antique quilts and home decor pieces...Jody likes this section, too.

Such a lovely burger joint with great shopping...we really enjoyed our lunch date at CenterPoint Station.  It brought back such fun memories of our time in the Austin area 9 years ago.  I always dream when we eat there of owning a place like this some day.  And then {as usual}the hubby brings me back to reality by reminding me of what a nightmare it would be to manage all the inventory...blah...blah...blah.  I get it--it makes sense.   But it's still fun for a girl to dream though, right??....maybe we could just start with a small burger joint and then add the fru-fru shops later.  ;-)

XOXO....

Jennifer
