South Texas Winter

If you live in Minneapolis, Minnesota tomorrow night's forecast is 0 degrees. Tomorrow in McAllen-it will be 90 degrees! Typically our winters in South Texas are very mild. Which basically means, we may have a few days here and there where the temperatures dip into the 40's and 50's, but they are few and far between.

This weekend, the temperatures soared to the high 80's and it was the perfect time to go to a birthday party at the park!

The Hubby's cousin, Chad, and his family live just down the road from us and their son Jackson had a birthday this weekend. Little Man had been looking forward to the party all week. What we didn't know when we arrived is that they had a water park area. Little Man made a B-line to it as soon as we pulled him out of the car!

Chad and his family moved to McAllen this past summer. It is nice to have family living nearby. Joyce, Jackson's grandmother, was able to make the long trip from Gilmer (our hometown) for the birthday celebration. I really enjoyed getting to visit with her during the party.

We were finally able to chase our little guy down and get him into dry clothes. It was time to head home.

We had a great time at the party thanks to this fantastic warm weather we're having here in South Texas. You can see why all the "Winter Texans" flock to this part of the state to escape the frigid temperatures around the country.
