Labor Day weekend

This past weekend, my brother Brent, sister-in-law Sheri and nephew Beck came down to stay with us for a visit. They arrived late Friday night and stayed until yesterday afternoon. We had a great time showing them around the McAllen area.

We started our weekend by taking them to eat at our favorite local restaurant in McAllen. It is called Costa Messa and the food is fabulous. We even had a chance to hear a local Mariachi band play while there. The boys loved hearing the music and dancing to it.

Noah enjoying giving Beck one of his many hugs over the weekend.

Noah had fun showing Beck all of his HUNDREDS of cars, trucks, tractors and airplanes on the backporch.

Brent and Beck taking a spin on our golf cart in the neighborhood. It was funny, the following morning, Jody went outside to take the trash out and cracked up when he saw the golf cart covered with dirt. He came back in the house and said to me, "I think Brent and Beck went off-roading last night on the golf cart!"

The boys had fun comparing each other's bellies and just running around in their diapers while their dads were watching the BYU and Oklahoma football game on the tube....

We decided to head over to the Island for some beach time. Noah and Beck had fun but are still not too sure about the sticky sand and the salty water.

Sheri and Beck going for a drive...Beck was getting pretty good behind the wheel.

Noah completely pooped out after his long weekend of playing and hanging out with his Uncle Brent, Aunt Sheri and Beck.

We had so much fun together this weekend and are so glad they came in town for a visit. I was especially happy to have some time to hang out with my brother. Now that we are grown and have our own lives, families, etc., it is difficult to find quality time to sit down and talk. We had the opportunity to do that this weekend and it was great. I'm so happy for him and the beautiful, sweet family he has with Sheri and Beck. Love you guys!
