Jason Hightower 1971-2009

Jason Hightower, 1971-2009

"Each life that touches ours for good
Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord;
Thou sendest blessings from above
Thru words and deeds of those who love.

What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christlike friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.

When such a friend from us departs,
We hold forever in our hearts
A sweet and hallowed memory,
Bringing us nearer, Lord, to thee.

For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
Devotion to the Savior’s name,
Who bless our days with peace and love,
We praise thy goodness, Lord, above."

Each Life That Touches Ours For Good, Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, no. 293

Our dear friend, Jason Hightower, lost his 5 year battle with cancer late Friday night. I blogged about Jason a few weeks ago and explained the long battle he has been facing with a brain tumor. Ingrid, his wife, was by his side till the very end. How blessed Jody and I were to have had the opportunity to get to know Jason. We learned so much about life and love through his example. Jason was a devoted and loving husband, father and son. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved the gospel with all his heart. He seemed to be continually serving those around him and was a true friend to all. We have no doubt that Jason's spirit is alive and well on the other side and knowing him, he is already busy doing missionary work! We will miss you dear friend and are praying for Ingrid and the children during this very difficult time...

God Bless...

  1. Oh--so sad to hear, yet glad that a painful battle is over. I will add my prayers for his wife and children; what a difficult, difficult time for them!

  2. How sad. I'm sorry for your loss. My condolences to you as his friends and to Indrid and the family.
